We are pleased to welcome Gary Kilday CSC to the Bonboo team as an Air-to-Surface Integrator (ASI).
Gary’s distinguished career in the Royal Australian Air Force spanned nearly three decades, where he served as a Combat Controller and Air Warfare Instructor. His leadership and expertise were instrumental in developing and delivering advanced Combat Control capabilities for Defence Australia.
Gary’s career highlights include:- Integrating Airpower with Special Operations Command to deliver mission-critical outcomes.- Leading the design and delivery of Combat Control training programs, including first of type courses.- Multiple awards for operational excellence and capability development.
What really stands out is Gary’s passion for innovation and people. Whether leading in the field, developing world-class training programs, or undertaking wildly ambitious DIY projects, he brings both knowledge and heart to everything he does.
Gary’s experience and knowledge will further strengthen Bonboo’s Defence expertise, and we are very proud to have him on board.

Bonboo is proud to welcome Christopher Carrick and Mitchell Cable as our newest Integration Specialists.
Chris brings extensive experience in the cyber and exercise design space, leading advanced simulation architectures for Defence wargaming, including federating simulators across the Defence training domain.
Mitch joins us with 15+ years as a Communications Electronics and Network Technician, with deep expertise in radio, satellite, radar and IT systems, and valuable operational experience supporting Defence simulation and radar capabilities.
Welcome to the team! We’re delighted to have both Mitch and Chris on board; your expertise will be instrumental as Bonboo continues to push the boundaries of Defence capability in the Air Warfare Centre’s (AWC) Distributed Training Centre (DTC).

Bonboo is proud to welcome our newest Integration Specialist, Nicolas ‘Winnie’ Wenban!
A highly accomplished Weapons System Officer (WSO) in the Royal Australian Air Force, Winnie brings an exceptional depth of operational expertise across multiple capabilities. As a Qualified Aviation Instructor, he is a Subject Matter Expert in weapon systems, data links, and communications systems—critical elements in modern defence operations.

Drawing from his experience in the Air Combat Group and Surveillance and Response Group, Nick will play a pivotal role in shaping future Defence training activities within the Air Warfare Centre at RAAF Williamtown.

Bonboo is proud to welcome our newest Integration Specialist, Michael Burkitt.A JTAC instructor with over 23 years’ experience in the Royal Australian Air Force, having fulfilled a variety of roles and specialisations during that time. ‘Mick’ joins us as a former Air Command JTAC Program Manager with proven proficiency in air-domain command and control, coupled with the integration of joint fires and effects within the ADF’s multi-domain operating environment.
Prior to becoming an SME in the field of air-land integration, Mick was a specialist in personnel recovery and survival of aircrew and Special Operations Forces. Joining Bonboo as an Exercise Planner, Mick will play a crucial role in shaping and executing integrated force and joint exercises within the Air Warfare Centre at RAAF Williamtown.
August 2024:
In support of Cubic Defence Australia & NZ and the Combat Training Centre (CTC), Bonboo Integration Specialists have wrapped up their support to 1 (Australian) Division’s Exercise Walker 2024. The SQLD WFX comprised two activities in one exercise, with 7 Brigade conducting ‘Warfighter’ Exercise Diamond Run, commanded in real time by HQ 1 (AS) Div in both Rockhampton and Brisbane.
Our role was to create a realistic Joint theatre and ensure the Division and its subordinate elements rehearsed operating in a multi-domain environment as a unit-of-action within a coalition JTF. Bonboo Integration Specialists were involved in the conduct of the following roles in the live and simulation space:🎯 Coached and controlled injects into operational level targeting effects; 🛰️ Provided simulated and constructive Strategic and Airborne ISR collection operations;🚀 Controlled long-range Joint Fires and Effects in the field;📄 Provided Joint Intelligence and Future Effects to Multi-Domain operations.🦉 Bonboo.com.au - Always proud to team-up with our Army, Navy and Air Force mates.

July 2024:
Bonboo would like to welcome our newest Integration Specialist, Russell Adams.A former Fast Jet Pilot in the Royal Australian Air Force, ‘Russ’ joins us with a wealth of operational experience across multiple capabilities. He has proven proficiency in fast jet, maritime and instructional flying. Most recently he has specialised in Maritime Strike and Integrated Air and Missile Defence as an F/A-18F Mission Commander across high profile ADF and international exercises. Leveraging further experience gained in Air Combat Group capability management, Russ will be steering Battle Worthiness and future Training activities within the Air Force's Warfare Centre at RAAF Williamtown.

Bonboo would like to welcome our newest Battle Worthiness Specialist, Michael Van Den Berg.As a Maritime Warfare Officer in the Royal Australian Navy, Michael "Dutchy" Van Den Berg joins us with a wealth of knowledge. An experienced leader, who has coordinated complex projects, Michael has managed high-performance teams and delivered world class training programs.Michael will be steering future Live and Synthetic Training activities within the Royal Australian Air Force's Air Warfare Centre at RAAF Williamtown.
